We send a consultant to your jurisdiction to meet with you, Civil Service, Human Resources, the Union, and any other interested parties you specify. We then do a job task analysis, interview your personnel and supervisors, review your General Orders, Standard Operating Procedures, Union Contract etc., meet with your legal people and design a testing process appropriate to your situation. Such a design will address such issues as unfair discrimination, validation of the testing process, job-relevance and challenge -handling procedures. A testing process may include a written component, physical agility, practical skills demonstration and/or assessment center. Process design allows the integration of both measurement and political considerations into an overall testing process, in a fair, challenge-resistant manner.
